Dr. Kulpecz earned a PhD from Imperial College of Science and Medicine, Univ. of London, an MBA (Henley Business School, UK), and BA- MSc degrees in Geology from Rutgers Univ. He has extensive commercial, operational and management experience in the upstream/midstream oil and gas and power sectors and private equity/venture capital investments. Over a 21 year period, he held a succession of senior executive positions at the Royal Dutch Shell group as an Executive Committee Member, primarily in the exploration and production area and later as Executive Director and EVP of Shell International Gas and Power for Eastern/Central Europe, Russia, Africa and Latin America. Following Shell, he was President of Azurix International and has acted as a senior energy advisor to several investment funds. Dr. Kulpecz is based in Houston, New York and London.

Murray W. Grigg, Founder

Mr. Grigg's engineering career began more than 30 years ago, a significant portion of which has been devoted to the study of tight gas sands, gas shales and coal bed methane plays in the United States and Canada. Mr. Grigg has been affiliated with such companies as Canadian Hunter Exploration, EOG Resources as Chief Exploration Engineer, EOG Resources (Canada) as Technical Specialist, Tom Brown, as Chief Exploration Engineer and EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) as Engineering Advisor. Mr. Grigg also was a co-founder of Kerogen Resources, Inc., which specialized in identifying unconventional oil and gas shale opportunities in the United States and Canada. Most recently, as Vice President of Mariner Energy, Inc., he led Mariner's unconventional resources group in the USA and Canada, focused to shale oil opportunities. Mr. Grigg earned a degree in Applied Science (Chemical Engineering) from the University of British Columbia and his Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary. He is a member of AAPG and SPE.

Mr. Hietala's oil and gas career began more than 35 years ago as Petrophysicist with Imperial Oil followed by a twenty year tenure with Canadian Hunter Exploration, where he served in various capacities including Petrophysicist, Manager, Director and Vice President. Mr. Hietala was a founder of Triangle Petroleum Corporation (Canada) and has founded and provided advisory services to a number of private companies since 1995. Most recently, Mr. Hietala established and led the Calgary based unconventional resources group for Mariner Energy's Canadian subsidiary, ME Canada Energy. Mr. Hietala is an honors graduate in Earth Sciences from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and is a member of SPE, AAPG, CSPG, CWLS and SPWLA.

Mr. Dale has 19 years of energy experience with extensive knowledge in upstream and midstream accounting, finance, risk management, operations, and mergers and acquisitions. Experience includes high growth startup companies and large size integrated entities in the public and private sectors. Recently was Chief Financial Officer of a private Texas company and has served in different capacities in companies such as: El Paso Corporation, Rosetta Resources, JM Huber Energy, and Tejas Gas Corporation. Mr. Dale has a Masters of Business Administration, dual degrees in Accounting and Finance and is Certified Public Accountant in Texas.

R. Chris Burkard, Vice President - Operations

Mr. Burkard has over 30 years of domestic and international oil and gas exploration, production and acquisition/divestiture experience with 25 years as an independent oil & gas producer. Before joining Kerogen he was President and CEO of Krescent Energy Company, a private equity backed exploration company operating primarily onshore Gulf Coast and focused on the generation, acquisition and development of both conventional and unconventional oil and gas reserves. Mr. Burkard has a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering with subsequent courses in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University. Mr. Burkard also studied geology at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and has an MBA in finance from Rice University. Mr. Burkard is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Houston Geological Society, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Independent Producers of America and the Houston Producers Forum. In the past, Mr. Burkard served in numerous positions with the Fort Worth Society of Petroleum Engineers and is a past board member of the Jones Graduate School Alumni Association at Rice University.

Cliff Klingler, Vice President, Land and Business Development

Mr. Klingler began his oil and gas career in 1981 and has significant experience in exploration and production operations, acquisitions and divestitures and assembling and executing exploration projects with private and public companies in several basins in the USA. Mr. Klingler served as Landman and later Land Manager with The Exploration Company of Louisiana over a period of 16 years. Mr. Klingler served several E&P companies as a consultant on 3D Seismic surveys, in assembling lease blocks to be drilled and in due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Klingler was a Business Development Land Advisor in Burlington Resources and ConocoPhillips. Mr. Klingler is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, a member of the AAPL and is a Certified Professional Landman.

Andy Prefontaine

Vice President - Land (Canada)

Mr. Prefontaine began his Career in 1999 and has helped develop land positions in a number of unconventional resource plays in both the United States and Canada. His most recent position of Senior Landman at Mariner Energy Inc. concentrated on the acquisition and development of several Shale Oil horizons in Western Canada. Prior to this, Mr. Prefontaine held the position of Land Manager at Triangle Petroleum Corporation where he secured land positions in several Shale Gas opportunities in both Canada and the United States, including Western and Eastern Canada, Texas (Barnett Shale) and Arkansas (Fayetteville Shale). Mr. Prefontaine holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen.
